About Online Data TV

The series

Online Data TV is a weekly video podcast about one subject: decentralized data storage. Instead of trusting a single provider with everything, decentralized storage spreads data across many independent machines, so that no one outage, breach or business decision can take it away.

Each episode runs for about forty minutes and usually has a guest who builds, studies or depends on this kind of infrastructure. We cover how the technology works, why it exists, what it is good at and what it is not, the projects and companies in the space, where the market is heading, and the real stories of data loss, outages and breaches that explain why people care.

The tone is educational. We are here to explain, compare and question, not to sell.

The host

Roberto Capodieci

Roberto Capodieci

Roberto has been writing software since the late 1970s. He sold his first video game at ten and was running an office of nearly forty developers by twenty. Since then he has worked as a senior blockchain architect, CTO and chief blockchain officer, with projects in finance, logistics, pharmaceuticals, big data for law enforcement and the metaverse.

Peer-to-peer networks have been his thread through all of it, from early BitTorrent work to blockchain from around 2010 onward. He is Italian, has lived in the United States, Singapore and Bali, writes books, gives talks and hosts podcasts, including Interchain.Me, a show about blockchain and decentralization in general.

Expect a curious host who asks real questions, pushes back when something does not add up, and keeps the conversation relaxed and two-way.
